The H2e is the first, all-electric, series production bowrider on the market.
Powering the H2e is Vision Marine Technologies’ (VMT) E-Motion 180e electric outboard. It’s the first fully electric purpose-built outboard powertrain system that marries a battery pack, inverter, and motor with proprietary union assembly between the transmission and electric motor design utilizing extensive control software. Four Winns says it’s the world’s most powerful outboard electric powertrain. The outboard draws power from a 70kWh power bank. The batteries can charge via a fully integrated onboard charger. This means the H2e can plug into any dock shore power system. The H2e has a range of up to 120 miles. The helm station has a separate power source and does not affect the outboard’s power supply. Furthermore, Four Winns notes that the outboard provides 180 max horsepower. This helps to give the 22-foot, 4,870-pound H2e a top speed of approximately 40 mph. VMT says the E-Motion technology offers a 90 percent reduction in fuel and maintenance cost compared to an ICE engine, it has a high torque to horsepower ratio, it’s noiseless with minimal vibrations, and its odorless and smokeless.
